Hungry for Korea

Experiencing the culture of a foreign country is a must for any traveler. What a better way to know Korea other than its delicious cuisine! I have to be honest, I can’t remember the exact names of what we ate while we were there. But at least I get to share with everyone yummy photos of the food I get to taste while in Korea!

Warning: Food porn extravanganza. I cannot be blamed for any hunger or mouth-watering or drooling of any kind induced by the following picspam. ENJOY!

Kimchi with ramen noodles, beef and more good stuff.

Along the streets of Namdaemun, we saw this. But I did not eat it. Haha.

Recognize these from dramas?! You can choose the filling. Red bean or sweet potato. YUM.

Soba. Somewhere in Seoul.

Tempura with some special secret sauce. ^^ Somewhere in Seoul.

Seafood in Jeju is the best.

These abalone were alive.. and moving. I ate it like that, dipped a little with the kimchi paste (?).  That red one on the right.

Black pig. These are heavenly delicious, I am not kidding. Jeju Island.

Must have soju and beer.

All gone. Food coma.

Abalone porridge

Sweet and sour chicken. Ala Go Eun Chan and Choi Han Gyul.

짜장면. Black bean noodles.

Street food Jeju style!

At the Jagalchi Fish Market in Busan.

Cold buckwheat noodles. Spicy. Haeundae Beach, Busan.

왕만두. Really huge dumplings.

I think this is cold noodles too. Haeundae Beach, Busan.

Street food in Busan.

Back in Seoul. Where was this? Maybe somewhere near Gangnam?

Beer and Soju. BOMBS!!!

칼국수. Knife cut noodles. In Myeongdong. The line was really long on this little restaurant!

Seafood porridge with a heart. In Myeongdong.

설렁탕. Remember Shining Inheritance?  Yes that one. 😉 In Myeongdong.

At Marimo in Apgujeong. I think it’s seaweed and some squash as side dishes.

모찌리도후. I love this. Got to be my favorite. Very unique taste. Soft, chewy but kind of melts in your mouth.

Seafood. noodles. I think it’s udon. Om nom nom nom ~  Still at Marimo in Apgujeong.

No sake for me. I got this. Mojito!

보쌈. We ate at this place in Gangnam that looks like a regular house during the day, but is a restaurant at night. Love the homey feel! The food tastes great!

My last meal in Korea. At Incheon International Airport.

There you go. My adventures in Korea presented through a very long food porn. Seriously, Korean food is one of kind. I love it.

Wow. Can I come eat with you the next time you’re in Korea? 🙂 Totally curious about what abalone tastes like raw and that soft chewy thing… Was it a mochi?
